The project undertaken at Windsor Terrace on behalf of Newcastle University encompassed extensive surfacing and groundworks operations. The scope of work commenced with the excavation of the designated area to the required formation level, followed by the off-site disposal of all resultant arisings. Existing inspection covers and tactile paving were repositioned and reset as deemed necessary.
A 50mm x 150mm pin kerb was procured and installed across the entrance, spanning approximately 5 linear meters. Subsequent operations involved the supply and installation of a 300mm granular sub-base, succeeded by the application of a 100mm thick dense binder course.
The final phase of the project entailed the application of a 30mm layer of stone mastic asphalt, covering a total surface area of 175 square meters. This comprehensive suite of works has resulted in a significantly improved and durable surface at the Windsor Terrace site.
