Project Overview: Full Excavation & Driveway Reconstruction

The project began with the full excavation of the existing driveway and removal of an adjoining part of the garden. The old cobbled drive, along with a significant portion of soil, was carefully removed and sent off to be recycled, ensuring that the project adhered to environmentally responsible practices.

Once the site was cleared, our skilled team installed pin kerb edging to define the boundaries and a robust ACO drainage channel along the house edge and garage entrance to manage surface water effectively. This drainage system is designed to prevent water pooling, keeping the driveway dry and safe.

Additionally, new metal manhole covers were fitted, ensuring that all access points were secure and visually consistent with the new surface.

Sub-Base and Surfacing Details

The driveway was reconstructed using a sustainable approach with a recycled granular sub-base, providing a solid foundation for the new surface. This sub-base not only promotes stability but also contributes to the environmental sustainability of the project.

For the surfacing, we applied a 70mm bitumen base course, followed by a 30mm bitumen surface course. This combination ensures a long-lasting, resilient finish that can withstand the demands of everyday use and heavy traffic, making it ideal for residential driveways.

Patio Refurbishment: A Fresh Look with Regrouting

In addition to the driveway, the project included a patio refurbishment. The existing patio was power washed to remove built-up dirt and debris, revealing the natural beauty of the paving stones. We then conducted a full regrout, using high-quality jointing materials to restore the patio’s appearance and durability. This not only rejuvenated the space but also extended the lifespan of the paving, ensuring that it remains a stunning feature for years to come.
