Beer Garden, Champs Sports Bar & Grill, Washington

In collaboration with Swandene, we undertook the project of resurfacing the beer garden at Champs Washington, which was part of a comprehensive renovation of the entire pub. The project began with the excavation of the designated area, followed by the installation of a stone reduced fines sub-base to ensure a solid foundation. A block edge was meticulously laid around the perimeter to define the space and provide additional structural integrity.

After the groundwork was set, a porous layer of tarmac was applied to facilitate proper drainage and enhance the durability of the surface under varying weather conditions. The final step involved applying SureSet Resin Systems bound aggregates, chosen for their aesthetic appeal and long-lasting quality. This choice of material not only revitalises the look of the beer garden but also contributes to the sustainability of the renovation by offering a permeable, low-maintenance solution that harmonizes with the natural environment of the pub’s outdoor space.
