Debmat Surfacing Limited is proud to announce that we have successfully transitioned from managing our ISO standards separately to operating under an Integrated Management System (IMS).

Following our most recent audit, where our ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) certifications were assessed together for the first time, we have officially moved to a single, unified management framework.

This change represents more than a technical adjustment. It reflects our ongoing commitment to operational excellence, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.

Why We Made the Change

Managing multiple ISO standards as separate systems can lead to unnecessary complexity. Over time, this creates duplicated documentation, multiple audits, and additional administrative effort that distracts from what really matters: delivering quality work efficiently and responsibly.

We recognised several challenges with the traditional approach:

  • Audit fatigue caused by multiple, separate audits each year.
  • Siloed processes between departments, sometimes leading to conflicting objectives.
  • Administrative overload from maintaining multiple manuals, procedures, and records.
  • Missed opportunities to take a joined-up view of business risk and performance.

To address this, we made the strategic decision to integrate our management systems into one coherent framework.

What is an Integrated Management System?

An Integrated Management System (IMS) brings together multiple ISO standards into a single, aligned structure. Using the internationally recognised Annex SL framework, our quality and environmental management processes now operate as one system.

In practice, this means:

  • One system, one audit – reducing disruption and simplifying compliance.
  • Streamlined processes – shared policies, objectives, and procedures that eliminate duplication.
  • Holistic risk management – enabling us to assess quality, environmental, and operational risks together rather than in isolation.
