ISO 9001:2015 NHSS-16 Certification
In 2014, Debmat Surfacing LTD decided to implement a quality management system and obtain ISO 9001:2015 certification, which includes compliance with NHSS-16 for health and safety. ISO 9001:2015 is a standard that helps businesses of all sizes and sectors improve their performance, meet customer expectations, and demonstrate their commitment to quality.
By having a quality management system in place, we can focus on customer satisfaction, deliver quality products and services on time, and reduce errors. This certification allows us to understand our customers’ needs better, increase customer confidence in our abilities, and reduce costs by following industry best practices and implementing continuous improvement projects.
With the NHSS-16 add-on to this standard, we also prioritise the safety of our employees, contractors, sub-contractors, visitors to site, and members of the general public. We are audited annually by the British Assessment Bureau to ensure our system is running effectively and that we have covered all the standard requirements.
CHAS Elite Accreditation
Debmat Surfacing LTD has been a member of CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) for over 10 years. In March 2024, we upgraded our accreditation from CHAS Standard to CHAS Elite.
CHAS Accreditation is a standard assessment required in high-risk industries, encouraging a proactive approach to risk management. By thoroughly assessing our health and safety processes, we can identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
This accreditation demonstrates that our company meets or exceeds the high health and safety standards often required by larger organisations, such as hospitals and universities, when taking on projects. Maintaining CHAS Elite status helps us improve supply chain efficiency, reduce supply chain risks, and find reliable business opportunities.
SafeContractor Accreditation
Debmat Surfacing LTD has been a member of SafeContractor, part of the Alcumus family, for over 10 years. SafeContractor is a SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) accreditation that collects and verifies our details across health, safety, financial, and ethical practices, including specific areas such as permits to work at height or hazardous material handling.
SafeContractor accreditation assures customers that we meet all the required standards and regulations, helping us win more work and grow our business. More than 450 hiring companies already use this platform to source supply chain partners.
Federation of Master Builders (FMB) Membership
Debmat Surfacing LTD has been a member of the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) for over 10 years. The FMB is the largest trade association in the UK construction industry, protecting the interests of small and medium-sized (SME) construction firms and serving as a one-stop-shop for rated, accredited, and trusted local traders.
Our FMB membership helps us stand out from the competition and reassures customers of our credibility and commitment to high standards. To maintain our membership, we must have our work audited and inspected annually to ensure we consistently meet the FMB’s high standards.
ISO 14001 Certification (Coming Soon)
Debmat Surfacing LTD is currently implementing an environmental management system to obtain ISO 14001 certification. ISO 14001 is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system, helping organisations improve their environmental performance through more efficient resource use and waste reduction.
As a business, we care about the environment and how we interact with it. We will work with and help our suppliers achieve goals related to working with communities, improving suppliers’ environmental performance, achieving Net Zero by 2050, monitoring and reducing our carbon footprint, and addressing corporate social responsibility.
ISO 45001 Certification (Coming Soon)
Debmat Surfacing LTD is also working towards obtaining ISO 45001 certification. ISO 45001 is the world’s international standard for occupational health and safety, designed to protect employees and visitors from work-related accidents and diseases.
By achieving ISO 45001 certification, we will provide our staff with the assurance that their workplace prioritises occupational health and safety, fostering a secure and supportive environment for their well-being. This certification will help us reduce workplace hazards and occupational accidents, enhance the overall health and wellness of our employees, and extend these priorities to contractors, visitors, and members of the general public.
